i have two silver dollars,3 plecos,6 neons and 4 glass catfish in a 30gal tank is it overcrowded?
also one of my silvers dollars has is yellow head and it sometimes has silver is there a problem? Oh and all of my fish are small size.
There is a slight problem... actually, a few... Silver Dollars are schooling fish, and keeping only two together will lead to extremely stressed, and as a result, aggressive fish. They get quite large (6"+), so keeping a proper group in a 30 gallon tank isn't realistic. The Plecos may or may not work depending on species; 3 Bristlenose (5") would be okay, while 3 Common Plecos (about 2 feet each) would certainly not. As long as you can get smaller species (Bristlenose, Rubberlip, Zebra, etc.), it shouldn't be a problem, but 2 would be more than enough... you'll still have to give them extra food as they will not subsist entirely on algae.
Consider replacing the Silver Dollars with a school of about 10 Hatchetfish ( http://www.aquariumfish.net/images_01/hatchets_w270.jpg ), add another 5-6 Neon Tetras, and 1 or 2 more Glass Cats and you'd be in great shape.
EDIT: The "inch of fish per gallon of water" "rule" should be ignored entirely. Entirely. It accounts for two aspects--tank volume and fish length--of a very complex art (notice I did NOT say "science") that is stocking a tank. It entirely ignores: aggression, waste production, girth, maintenance, schooling habits, swimming levels, hyperness, territorial issues, pH (effects ammonia's toxicity), temperature (effects water's ability to hold dissolved oxygen), and MANY other factors.
