My sims 2 has this problem where I cant delete furniture. It says cant select object in use but no ones using.
No one is using it and no one is set to use it. I have this problem right now with two chairs and a bed. No one can sit in them. If I click it I can chose for someone to sit in them but when they get to the chairs or the bed they just stand there. I also have a problem with not being able to clean up a dirty dish. It just sits there and there are no options to clean it up.
Yeah this is a wonderful game bug. I have had it with toilets as well.You can use moveObjects on but I've found with plates that it often doesn't work. The only thing I've found that works 100% of the time is Pescado's StuckObjectsremover hack. Here is the list of hacks by EP:
