Modern Wood TV Stands.
What are those paintings called that are done on wood and fold out to tell a story?
There are different panels that fold out and tell a story, they were used a lot during the renaissance in churches I believe, I just wanted to know if there was a name for that.
Also, does anyone know of any contemporary artists that do them today?
They're called altarpieces. Try searching Jan van Eyck (especially the Ghent Altarpiece).
As for the contemporary artists who do the same sort, I haven't been able to find any - I used altarpieces as one of my art assignments but I couldn't find any contemporary artists. However, Odd Nerdrum does a whole lot of paintings that are very renaissance-like. Worth a visit to his site.
